Ligue 1 side Lille team doctor FRANCK LE GALL, also the French national team doctor, “has left Lille.” He has decided to join Olympique de Marseille Manager RUDI GARCIA, with whom he worked at AS Roma (L’ÉQUIPE, 12/12). ... Former Cricket Hong Kong General Manager DANNY LAI YEE-JUNE has replaced TOM PHILLIPS as CEO of the Hong Kong Golf Association. Phillips, whose departure after three years was announced in August, "is credited with improving the financial stability of the HKGA" as well as its int'l reputation. Lai has been "involved in the Hong Kong sporting administrative set-up since joining the then Jubilee Sports Centre which was later renamed as the Hong Kong Sports Institute" in '89 and spending 11 years in the commercial department, leaving in '00 as the Commercial Operations Manager. He then spent 10 years at the then Hong Kong Cricket Association (SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST, 12/12). ... Former Leicester Tigers and England captain MARTIN CORRY has been elected to the Rugby Football Union Council. Corry joins as a national member, replacing RICHARD HILL, who recently took up the position of England team manager. Since retiring in '09, Corry has balanced a career as a senior technology sales director with corporate, motivational and ambassadorial roles. He sat on an advisory board for Premiership Rugby, working on anti-doping programs, and was a member of the UK Anti-Doping Athlete Committee (Leicester Tigers). ... MARKUS HAAS will become the CEO of Telefónica Deutschland on Jan. 1. Haas, currently COO of Telefónica Deutschland, will head the company "in close cooperation with" Chief Financial & Strategy Officer RACHEL EMPEY (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 12/11). ... IOC Member MARISOL CASADO was re-elected as President of the Int'l Triathlon Union at the 29th Congress on Sunday in Madrid for a third term. LOREEN BARNETT (CAN), ANTONIO ALVAREZ (MEX), RIA DAMGREN NILSSON (SWE) and SHIN OTSUKA (JPN), all of whom had previously served on the ITU’s Exec Board, were elected as VPs (ITU).


COACHES/MANAGERS: Swiss Challenge League side FC Wil has fired Manager MARTIN RUEDA. The club’s Turkish owners named goalie coach RONNY TEUBER interim head coach. Rueda is the sixth coach fired by Wil since Oct. ’14 (24 HEURES, 12/12). ... Ligue 2 side Red Star fired Manager RUI ALMEIDA. MANUEL PIRÈS, who has worked with the club for two years, will assume the interim position ahead of the club’s match against Sochaux on Friday (Red Star). ... J.League side Albirex Niigata appointed its former coach, FUMITAKE MIURA, as its manager for next season. He managed J3 League club AC Nagano Parceiro this past season (KYODO, 12/12). ... Russian Premier League side CSKA Moscow has appointed VIKTOR GONCHARENKO as coach following the departure of LEONID SLUTSKY. Goncharenko, once Slutsky's assistant at CSKA, joins the club "after a strong start to the season with FC Ufa, which had been expected only to battle against relegation" but instead is eighth in the Russian league. Slutsky quit as CSKA coach last week (AP, 12/12). ... Women's Super League One side Birmingham City Ladies Manager DAVID PARKER "has resigned after seven years with the club." Parker first joined Blues Ladies as a youth team coach in '09. He was named manager in '11 (BBC, 12/12). ... Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg on Monday confirmed that "they have parted company with" Managing Director of Sport & Communications KLAUS ALLOFS. Allofs, 60, who joined Wolfsburg from Werder Bremen in '12, "had been coming under increasing pressure this season, as the club, which has aspirations of regularly qualifying for the Champions League, stumbled early and often in the Bundesliga" (DEUTSCHE WELLE, 12/12). ... Finland reportedly sacked national football team coach HANS BACKE, "after less than a year in the job." The Finnish FA declined to comment but said that "it would be holding a news conference on Monday." Local broadcaster MTV reported that assistant coach MARKKU KANERVA would replace Backe (REUTERS, 12/11).
