The "mega-fight between Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko" is expected to gross £30M ($38M) and was confirmed by the two camps "just four hours before" Joshua stepped into the ring against Eric Molina in Manchester on Saturday night, promoter Eddie Hearn revealed, according to Gareth A. Davies of the London TELEGRAPH. Joshua and Klitschko are expected to share around £18M ($22.8M), and the promotional team is "optimistic that there will be more than a million pay-per-view buys on Sky Box Office" with Wembley set up for 90,000 spectators, which would surpass Carl Froch-George Groves II in May '14. Joshua and Klitschko will "go head-to-head this Wednesday for the first of a series of events around the fight," while both men have signed up for testing with the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency. Hearn said that the final deal "was only done officially four hours before the fight." Joshua signed for the fight in his dressing room after beating Molina. Hearn said of the Wembley bout, "We will go on sale before Christmas for a certain amount. We’re looking to go to 90,000. I think we have permission for about 80,000 and then we have to speak to Mr. [Shad] Khan, the mayor, to improve that with some transport around it" (TELEGRAPH, 12/11). In London, Ron Lewis reported the bout "will smash records." It is estimated that it will draw revenue of more than £40M ($50.75M). The pay-per-view TV audience and worldwide TV rights "will also break anything seen before for a bout in Britain." Both boxers will make "double-digits millions." Hearn: "This is a unique fight, two Olympic champions, two guys at different stages of their careers. We’ve got the hottest prospect in world boxing against a legend in the heavyweight division" (LONDON TIMES, 12/12).
