Scottish Premiership side Celtic "appointed retail expert SHARON BROWN as the first female director in their history." The 48-year-old's other current directorships include McColl's Retail Group, and she has worked with the likes of John Menzies and Dobbies Garden Centres in the past. A survey in the summer showed only three of the 70 directors of Premiership clubs were women -- Heart of Midlothian Chair ANN BUDGE, Motherwell's LEANNE THOMAS and JACQUI LOW at Partick Thistle (PA, 12/9).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Spanish second division side Murcia sacked Manager JOSÉ MARÍA SALMERÓN after the team's loss to Huesca. It was the team's fourth loss in its last five games (MARCA, 12/11). ... Brasileiro side Chapecoense appointed VAGNER MANCINI as its coach. He replaces CAIO JÚNIOR, "who was among those killed" when the team's plane crashed in Colombia (REUTERS, 12/9).
