Marketplace Roundup: Spanish Rugby Federation Names Joma Kit Sponsor

The Spanish Rugby Federation (FER) named Spanish sportswear brand Joma its kit sponsor for the next five years. Joma will provide uniforms for Spain's men's and women's national teams throughout a period including the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup in Ireland and running through the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (FER).

French car company Renault signed an agreement with the French Handball Federation (FFHB) to be an official partner of the federation and the men’s 2017 World Handball Championships to be held in France. The deal was agreed to in collaboration with Infront France. Renault becomes the official transportation partner of the men’s 2017 World Handball Championships and will provide a fleet of over 130 vehicles to be used by teams and officials (FFHB).

Israeli pharmaceutical company Teva "has extended its arena naming-rights deal" with Basketball Bundesliga side Ulm for another five years. Teva "will continue to use its Ratiopharm brand as the multi-purpose arena's naming-rights partner." Teva will pay an estimated €250,000 ($268,000) annually through '21. Teva last year "renewed its title and shirt sponsorship with the BBL club," also through '21 (SPONSORs, 12/5).

Red Bull Racing announced that its innovation partnership with Aston Martin is to continue in '17, with the sports car brand's wings logo set to adorn the team's cars for another Formula One season. Ahead of this year's season-opening Australian Grand Prix, the Team and Aston Martin announced details of a unique project -- the development of a hypercar, the AM-RB 001. The order book for the 175 examples -- including 25 track-only specials -- began to quickly fill up. All 150 road-going cars are now sold and customer deliveries of the F1-inspired hypercar will begin in early '19 (Red Bull Racing).

Spain's CaixaBank and "La Caixa" Foundation renewed and expanded their backing of the Spanish Basketball League (ACB). The bank and foundation will remain principal sponsors of the Copa del Rey and official sponsors of the Supercopa (ACB).
