Scottish League One side Albion Rovers met Scottish FA chiefs on Thursday to set a venue for its "dream date" with Scottish Premiership side Celtic, according to Craig Swan of the Scotland DAILY RECORD. Euphoria has "overtaken the Coatbridge outfit" after it secured a Scottish Cup fourth-round clash with Brendan Rodgers’s club "thanks to Tuesday’s 2-1 win over Queen of the South." Rovers cannot play the tie at its Cliftonhill home "due to the state of the stadium so the money-spinning contest will be switched." Lanarkshire venues such as Motherwell’s Fir Park and Hamilton’s New Douglas Park are "potential settings for the head to head in the third week of January." Rovers Secretary Paul Reilly will now head to Hampden as the club looks to "put a plan in place." Reilly: "Obviously we can't stage the match at Cliftonhill so we'll attempt to find a solution which will allow as many people as possible to see it. ... It means a lot to everyone and the boys in the squad, as you would imagine, are very excited. There are a number of factors involved and this is the reason for the meeting with the SFA, just to clarify the position and see where we go from this point." As Rovers celebrated, Championship side Queens were "left to rue missing out on a six-figure windfall from a clash with Celtic at Palmerston" (DAILY RECORD, 12/1).
