Free agent outfielder CHOI HYUNG-WOO "signed a record-breaking four-year deal" worth 10B won ($8.5M) with the Kia Tigers of the Korea Baseball Organization. The 10B won deal is comprised of a 4B won ($3.4M) signing bonus and 6B won ($5.1M) in total salary, the Tigers said. The 33-year-old "had played for the Samsung Lions for 11 seasons." With the agreement, Choi "became the highest paid player in the history of the KBO," beating out PARK SOK-MIN, who inked with the NC Dinos in a four-year deal worth 9.6B won last year (KOREA TIMES, 11/25). ... Former France int'l FRANCK RIBERY has "extended his contract" with German champion Bayern Munich by another year to June '18. The 33-year-old midfielder has played 333 games and scored 108 goals in 10 seasons with the club (BBC, 11/27). ... Former F1 world champion JENSON BUTTON said that he would retire from the sport after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The McLaren driver "was already not going to race" in F1 in '17, with the team holding an option on him for the '18 campaign. Button: "I go into this weekend thinking it's going to be my last race. I think that's the best way. At this moment in time, I don't want to be racing in F1 beyond this year." He has won 15 F1 races, driving for Williams, Benetton, Renault, BAR, Honda, Brawn and McLaren (BBC, 11/24).

NOT ENOUGH: Former Chelsea doctor EVA CARNEIRO "has revealed she received death threats following her exit from the club and insisted not enough is being done to tackle sexism in football." The 43-year-old left Chelsea in '15 after public criticism from the then Manager JOSÉ MOURINHO "before settling her case against the club in the summer." She said, "Even though I don’t have a presence on social media -- I think I have made one post ever in my life -- some of the threats of sexual violence and death threats make it through." Carneiro "also believes the issue of sexism in football is going unchecked, unlike racism, and needs be taken more seriously." She said, "I think sexism is the least challenged form of discrimination" (PA, 11/25).
