ULI HOENESS "has been re-elected as president of Bayern Munich after winning an overwhelming majority of the vote at the club's annual general meeting on Friday." The former president "was the only candidate put forward" to replace KARL HOPFNER, who has held the role since Hoeneß "was imprisoned by the German state for tax evasion" in March '14. The former Bayern and West Germany int'l "ended up serving just half of his sentence" after being released in Feb. '16 (DW, 11/25). ... In a "sudden development," Star India President & Head of Sports NITIN KUKREJA "is leaving" the organization. Under Kukreja, Star "rapidly expanded its sports broadcasting operations" and is in the running for the TV rights of the Indian Premier League, which will be up for grabs once the Board of Control for Cricket in India gets the go-ahead from the Lodha panel. Kukreja "kickstarted many pioneering initiatives during his stint, one of which was moving popular football properties like English Premier League and Bundesliga to exclusively on HD channels" (ECONOMIC TIMES, 11/23). ... British Swimming CEO DAVID SPARKES has been elected to the board of the British Olympic Association. Sparkes ran against former Olympic champion figure skater ROBIN COUSINS, with the former being victorious in the final vote. Sparkes has held various key positions in swimming, including working for swimming’s world governing body, the FINA Bureau, the first British appointment to the bureau for 45 years (BOA). ... Former U.K. Sports Minister HUGH ROBERTSON "has been elected" to succeed SEBASTIAN COE as the chair of the British Olympic Association. Robertson, who oversaw the delivery of the London 2012 and Paralympic Games, "was appointed as vice-chairman of the BOA one year ago." Robertson beat his only opponent for the role, Great Britain field hockey President RICHARD LEMAN, "by a clear majority." Robertson "will serve a four-year term" starting this week (PA, 11/24). ... Int'l Canoe Federation President JOSE PERURENA will continue for a third term following a vote of confidence at the XXXVI ICF Congress in Baku, Azerbaijan. The Spaniard stood unopposed (ICF). ... Former Real Madrid player JOSÉ ANTONIO CAMACHO "is set to become the new coach of Africa Cup of Nations host Gabon." Camacho, 61, "was in the capital Libreville on Saturday with the president of the country’s federation to sign a contract" that will see him succeed Portuguese JORGE COSTA in the dugout (AFP, 11/26). ... Barcelona VP SUSANA MONJE resigned from her position "for personal reasons." Monje replaced JAVIER FAUS in '15 and helped the club record revenue of €679M in '15-16 (EL PAÍS, 11/26). ... Liga MX side Cruz Azul reportedly named PACO JÉMEZ its coach on Sunday. He said, "An agreement has been reached. ... But I do not want to say anything is done until they make it official" (EFE, 11/27).
