Bayern Munich Presents Record Numbers For '15-16 Season; €626.8M In Revenues

Bayern Munich's on-field dominance -- the club won its fourth consecutive Bundesliga title last season -- has led to record financial results. The club presented its best financial figures in its 116-year history during its annual general meeting on Friday. Bayern generated revenues of €626.8M during the '15-16 season. It is the first time that the club broke the €600M ($635.5M)-revenue mark. Bayern Munich joins ManU, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona as the only European teams to have surpassed that number. This year's turnover represents an increase of more than €100M ($106M) on last year's figure of €523.7M. Bayern's previous revenue record was set during the '13-14 season, when turnover amounted to €528.7M. The club, which currently sits second in the domestic league table, reported an operating profit of €142.5M ($151M), up from €111.3M during the previous year. Munich's pre-tax profit of €53.9M ($57M) is yet another new best for the German side. The club's profit after taxes rose by 38.7% to €33M ($35M). Bayern's overall figures were boosted by increases in several income streams, including sponsorship and marketing (€169.8M/€113.9M in '14-15), as well as game-day revenue (€166M/€137.6M). Other areas such as TV and radio (€83.4M/€58.3M), and merchandise (€108.2M/€101.7M) also experienced growth over the past 12 months. Bayern's capital rose slightly from €411.5M to €424.6M. The club also announced that it added almost 14,000 new members since the end of the '15-16 season, as membership rose from 270,239 to 284,041 as of Friday.
