Paris St. Germain To Revamp Digital Presence With Ericsson Sponsorship

Paris St. Germain and Swedish telecom Ericsson announced their official partnership, focused on building a new digital experience for the Parisian club. With Ericsson, the club reinforces its status in terms of sports technology. Under the terms of the agreement, Ericsson will become an official partner and provide PSG with a range of solutions and services that will transform the digital experience for fans, players and support staff. Ericsson will provide PSG with three main types of support: a sports performance information system; a digital experience back-end system; and technology consulting and innovation services. This partnership will allow Ericsson to engage with football fans globally thanks to the club’s int'l footprint (PSG). L’ÉQUIPE reported the deal is "estimated to be worth around" €1.8M ($1.9M) per year. The contract is "good news" for the club which, for some time, with the exception of long-time partners including kit sponsor (Nike), jersey sponsor (Emirates) and its various Qatari backers, has "had a hard time attracting well-known foreign sponsors" (L’ÉQUIPE, 11/16).
