Swiss Football League Clubs Approve New TV Money Distribution

Representatives of the 20 Swiss Football League clubs have approved the new distribution of TV money, starting with the '17-18 season. The total money paid out to the 20 clubs increases from 17.2M Swiss francs to 30.7M Swiss francs ($30.74M). Of the total, the 10 top-division clubs will receive 24.1M Swiss francs ($24.2M), while the second-division sides will split the remaining 6.6M Swiss francs ($6.62M). The ratio between first and second division remains 4:1. Swiss Super League clubs, the country's top division, will receive a base payment of 1.8M Swiss francs ($1.8M), along with a performance-based bonus payment. In the Challenge League, the clubs receive a base payment of 500,000 Swiss francs ($501,330), plus a bonus payment (Swiss Football League).
