League Notes: Toto Wolff, Christian Horner Clashing Over Verstappen Phone Call

Mercedes Motorsport Dir Toto Wolff and Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner have "clashed over the Austrian's phone call to Jos Verstappen about his son Max." Wolff said that he he did discuss the Red Bull driver’s on-track approach during his conversation with Jos (himself a former F1 driver) but said that "such calls between them were commonplace and was scathing in response when told of Red Bull’s unhappiness." Wolff: "I just want to have a great season finale and no controversy because of another car causing a collision and being blamed for having interfered in the championship. I did it probably out of a more holistic approach of sympathy for Max, but if things are perceived in the wrong way in another team they don’t need me, they need a psychiatrist" (SKY SPORTS, 11/12).

The players of Pakistan cricket teams, both men and women, who are currently in New Zealand for a two-match Test series, were escorted out of their hotels in Nelson and Christchurch respectively, "after an earthquake of magnitude 7.4 struck central New Zealand just after midnight." According to U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake "generated a tsunami that hit the northeast coast of the South Island." All members of the Pakistan cricket team "are safe in Nelson" (REUTERS, 11/13).
