American Investors' $61M Nottingham Forest Takeover Set To Wrap In Coming Weeks

League Championship side Nottingham Forest's potential new owners John Jay Moores and Charles Noell hope to complete their £50M ($61M) takeover "within the next three weeks," according to John Percy of the London TELEGRAPH. The American investors' bid to buy the club is "now being ratified by the English Football League, with sources indicating that the Owners and Directors Test is already underway." Current Nottingham Forest Owner Fawaz Al Hasawi is ready to agree to a "complete sale of the club after dropping his initial demands" of a 20% stake and Moores is understood to have flown over to England in the last 24 hours. Moores is "hoping to complete a deal by mid to late November and finally end his search for an English club following unsuccessful bids for Everton and Swansea City." Brad Friedel, the head coach of the U.S. U19s, is "set to land a position as part of the takeover, possibly a key role within the academy." There are also plans to bring in a new CEO and Moores' consortium has been "sifting through potential candidates." Current Nottingham Manager Philippe Montanier is "vulnerable under the potential new regime after an alarming run of one victory from ten league games" (TELEGRAPH, 10/31).
