Finance Notes: Dutch FA Announces Profit Of €6.8M For '15-16

The Dutch FA (KNVB) has reported a profit of €6.8M for the '15-16 season. The KNVB also revealed that registered members of the governing body "had jumped to 1,227,157, the highest level in its history." The Dutch national team missed out on Euro 2016 in France "after a dramatic qualifying campaign, failing to progress from a group with Iceland and the Czech Republic," but the €6.8M profit means that Dutch football "remains financially healthy." Of that total, €4.8M ($5.3M) came from the professional football division and €2M (2.2M) from amateur football (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 10/31).

Four-time Olympic Medalist table tennis player Deng Yaping has reportedly established a "massive investment fund to focus on the fast-growing sports industry in China." The fund, formed by Deng and a unit of Zhongyuan Asset Management Co., plans to raise 5B yuan ($737.9M) from the capital market, with the first round of fundraising expected to reach 500M yuan ($73.8M), china.com reported. The fund "will focus on unlisted enterprises." Other main areas of investment for the fund include culture, tourism, technology and health (GLOBAL TIMES, 10/30).
