Architecture Firm Nikken Sekkei Fears Red Tape Could Delay Camp Nou Renovation

Nikken Sekkei, the architecture firm hired to renovate Barcelona's Camp Nou, "has expressed its concern over the slowness in some of the bureaucratic matters" before the work begins, according to Tomás Andreu of SPORT. Nikken Sekkei "understands that the project could face a delay much greater than what was expected a few months ago." Execs from the Japanese firm met Monday with Barcelona leaders "ahead of the inauguration of Nikken Sekkei's new office in Barcelona." Sources confirmed that there "are concerns over problems that still have to be resolved," including with the "neighboring associations involved with the Espai Barça project" (SPORT, 10/27).
