Olympique de Marseille Sporting Dir GUNTER JACOB has left the club in a mutual agreement. Jacob arrived at the club in July to fill a position that had been vacant since ’14. He had signed a two-year contract (L’ÉQUIPE, 10/26). ... At its annual general meeting on Tuesday, the French National Volleyball League (LNV) elected ALAIN GRIGUER as its president for four years, ’16-20 (LNV). ... JOHN DELANEY has told the Olympic Council of Ireland that he is "stepping down" from his role as OCI VP. Delaney's decision to step down from the OCI comes on the back of a "turbulent summer" for the organization which saw its President PAT HICKEY arrested by Brazilian police in relation to "alleged mis-selling of tickets for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro" (RTE, 10/26). ... William Hill has promoted Group Director of Change CEM MIRALAY to the position of chief customer officer of the FTSE-listed sports betting operation. Miralay joined William Hill in May from European market competitor Betsson AB where he served as chief product officer from '13-16. The promotion to CCO sees Miralay "take on certain responsibilities" of the chief marketing officer role following last month’s departure of ALEX O'SHAUGHNESSY (SBC NEWS, 10/26). ... Board member BÖRJE EKHOLM has been named as the new president and CEO of Ericsson. Ekholm is currently CEO of Patricia Industries, a company that "seeks to develop unlisted companies," and a subsidiary of Investor where Ekholm was CEO for 10 years until '15. Investor is "also a principal owner of Ericcson." JAN FRYKHAMMAR will "remain interim CEO" until Jan. 16 (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 10/26). ... Fox Sports promoted WHITE HASKEL to senior VP/brand marketing, where he will oversee marketing cooperation between Fox Deportes and Fox Sports' English-language channels (John Ourand, Staff Writer).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Former Belgian national football team coach GEORGES LEEKENS is “no longer the manager” of Belgian Pro League side Lokeren. The club announced that it ended his contract “by mutual agreement.” Leekens, 67, joined the club in Oct. ’15, replacing BOB PEETERS (LA MEUSE, 10/26). ... DAINIUS ADOMAITIS was appointed on Tuesday as the head coach of Lithuanian national basketball team "following the departure of JONAS KAZLAUSKAS." Ten of the 14 exec committee members of Lithuanian basketball federation "voted for Adomaitis to lead the country's men basketball team." The federation had "tried to persuade Kazlauskas to stay." Adomaitis, 42, is "currently the head coach of club Neptunas Klaipeda" (XINHUA, 10/25). ... Championship side Wigan Athletic sacked GARY CALDWELL as manager "after a disappointing start" to its season. The club is 23rd place in the league. Caldwell was appointed manager in April '15 "after playing 111 times for the club and captained the side to the FA Cup final victory" against Man City in '13 (London GUARDIAN, 10/25).
