The Int'l Hockey Federation (FIH) announced that New Zealand's JASON MCCRACKEN will take over as CEO in February following the confirmation of his appointment. He will be leaving his role as head of insurance and investment risk at banking group ANZ to take on the role at FIH's HQ in Lausanne, Switzerland. He will replace KELLY FAIRWEATHER, who is leaving for the Int'l Tennis Federation after six years in the role. McCracken is well known to the hockey community having served as an Olympic and World Cup umpire, FIH committee member and technical official for over 20 years (FIH). ... The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Bid Committee confirmed the appointment of SAINT-CLAIR MILESI as its new communications director, starting with immediate effect.‎ Milesi, who was born in Brazil and has dual Brazilian-Italian nationality, has 11 years’ experience in campaigning communications in the fields of sport and government and seven years’ experience as a journalist in Brazil and the U.S. Milesi worked as part of the communications team for the successful Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games Bid and the then newly formed Rio 2016 Organizing Committee. Milesi left to become communications director for the 2014 World Cup Brazil Local Organizing Committee -- a position which he held for four years (Paris 2024). ... Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee President BRIAN LEWIS is now the interim president of the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees. Lewis was unanimously elected to serve in the capacity following the resignation of former President STEVE SOUTE of Barbados. Lewis will serve as interim president until the CANOC Extraordinary General Meeting scheduled for Barranquilla, Colombia, in February (NEWSDAY, 10/25).

COACHES/MANAGERS: The Japan Volleyball Association appointed KUMI NAKADA as coach of the women's national team and YUICHI NAKAGAICHI as head of the men's side. Nakada, 51, "is currently in charge of the Hisamitsu Springs team in the women's Premier League." She becomes the "first woman to oversee the women's national team." Nakagaichi replaces MASASHI NAMBU (KYODO, 10/25). ... Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers "parted company with head coach WALTER ZENGA after just 87 days in charge." The former Italy goalkeeper, 56, replaced KENNY JACKETT on July 30, "shortly after Chinese conglomerate Fosun International bought the club." Zenga's assistant STEFANO CUSIN has "also left Molineux" (BBC, 10/25). ... Euroleague club Panathinaikos named XAVI PASCUAL the new head coach of the team on a three-year agreement. He arrives days after ARGYRIS PEDOULAKIS resigned earlier this week. Pascual, 44, arrives from Barcelona, where he coached until the end of last season (Euroleague). ... Hong Kong Premier League side South China acting coach RICARDO RAMBO "stepped down from his role" following Monday’s 4-2 defeat by Rangers. South China Convenor WALLACE CHEUNG KWONG-YUNG had already said the team "would look for a new coach from overseas if Rambo failed to deliver." Rambo will "remain with the club as an assistant" (SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST, 10/25).
