EDIWN VAN DER SAR was “named general director of Eredivisie side Ajax Amsterdam.” Van der Sar, 45, was the club’s marketing director since ’12. The former goalkeeper played for Ajax from ’90-99 before playing at Juventus, Fulham and ManU (BELGA, 10/18). ... NBCU promoted Exec VP/Entertainment Ad Sales DAN LOVINGER to NBC Sports exec VP/sales & marketing, "replacing SETH WINTER, who remains as a consultant." Lovinger "takes over sports sales as the company gears up for a World Cup, Super Bowl and Winter Olympics" (BROADCASTING & CABLE, 10/17). ... Veteran global sports marketing consultant CHRISTOPHER SONNTAG has left his position at WME-IMG, where he led a team advising Visa on its Olympics and FIFA rights. A replacement has not been named (Ben Fischer, Staff Writer). ... Expansion MLS club LAFC named AEG Global Partnerships Senior Manager of Partnership Activation ZACH WOOLRIDGE director of partnerships development (THE DAILY). 

COACHES/MANAGERS: Former West Indies captain JIMMY ADAMS has "left his role as head coach of Kent after five seasons." He joined the club before the start of the '12 campaign. Kent finished second in Division Two of the County Championship this year, "missing out on promotion" (BBC, 10/17). ... Bundesliga side Wolfsburg sacked Manager DIETER HECKING on Monday following "a poor start" to the season. Under Hecking, Wolfsburg earned just one win from its first seven matches and is in 14th place, two points above the relegation zone. VALERIEN ISMAEL, the coach of Wolfsburg's U23 side, will take over as interim manager (ESPN, 10/18).
