Marketplace Roundup: Olympique Lyonnais 'Categorically Denies' Naming Rights Report

Olympique Lyonnais categorically denies the information published by L’Équipe about an agreement signed with the Fiducial Group for the naming of Parc OL. The assertion by L’Équipe is totally false. At this time, there is no such agreement with Fiducial for three years, worth between €2M ($2.2M) and €2.5M ($2.7M) annually, as the paper reported. OL can confirm that the club is in negotiations with a number of French and foreign groups (OL).

The French Professional Football League (LFP) has renewed its Coupe de la Ligue partnership with French charity Restos du Cœur from ’16-20. Restos du Cœur provides hot meals to needy families. The LFP will help provide 1.2 million meals during the partnership. Restos du Cœur will benefit from logo visibility in stadiums and on digital platforms during the competition. The LFP will also provide 12,000 tickets for needy families to attend matches each season during the partnership (LFP).

Marathonbet, the official betting partner of ManU, launched the club’s first-ever branded online live casino. The project will allow ManU fans to play Live Roulette and Blackjack while immersed in a ManU-themed environment (ManU).

Investment platform AJ Bell extended its title sponsorship of the National Badminton League. The partnership will run for two more years. The renewed title sponsorship will see AJ Bell have a strong presence, including on- and off-court branding, at all 21 fixtures in the '16-17 season (Badminton England).

Abu Dhabi club Al Wahda signed a new major sponsorship agreement with Liberty Automobiles. The partnership with the car firm will see the Cadillac logo emblazoned on the team's strip. In addition, the team’s management and a select number of players will get Cadillac vehicles (GULF NEWS, 10/13).

Utilita Energy confirmed it signed a major new deal with Scottish Premiership side Partick Thistle. As the official energy partner of Thistle, Utilita will work closely with the club to engage with its fans across Maryhill and beyond (Utilita).

Betway Group confirmed its sponsorship deal with Ghana Premier League club AshantiGold. But both parties refused to give details about the duration and terms of contract. The betting company replaces Permafix as the club's headline sponsor (GHANA WEB, 10/14).
