Aussie Bank NAB Lands Naming Rights To Australian Football League Women's

Australian Football League Women’s has secured Australian bank NAB as its inaugural naming rights sponsor after what league CEO Gillon McLachlan said was a "hotly contested fight for its sparkling new product," according to Eliza Sewell of the HERALD SUN. The three-year deal, "with the option of a further three years," is believed to be worth A$2M ($1.5M)-A$3M ($2.3M) a year. Expectation "is high for the eight-team debut season which will likely comprise 30 games, all potentially broadcast live." McLachlan: "It’s another step in this journey to the line, we’ve come so far. To have a multinational brand, one of Australia’s biggest brands in the National Australia Bank, partnering with women’s football is significant for us and significant for the sport." AFL Women’s is "likely to soon confirm Cotton On Clothing as its apparel supplier," with custom designed playing tops, shorts and socks in development (HERALD SUN, 10/10).
