Baku F1 Grand Prix To Be Renamed Grand Prix Of Azerbaijan

Baku City Circuit Marketing & Communications Head Nigar Arpadarai said that the F1 Grand Prix in Baku is "planned to be renamed to the Grand Prix of Azerbaijan," according to Amina Nazarli of AZER NEWS. She said that Azerbaijan has "sent an appeal to the leadership" of F1 in this regard. Arpadarai: "We received no objections from the F1 leadership. We hope that the next competition will be held under the name Grand Prix of Azerbaijan." The main goal of renaming the Baku stage, according to her, "is to bring many of the European values, which Baku has, to the wider international community." She said, "We have successfully held the first edition of the Formula 1 in the capital, which was witnessed by millions of fans from different countries. Now it is time to link the name of the stage with our country" (AZER NEWS, 10/3).
