Andy Murray is "exploring the possibility of bringing an ATP Tour event to Glasgow’s Hydro arena," according to the Scotland DAILY RECORD. The world No. 2 "thrilled a capacity crowd of 10,000 on the banks of the Clyde" on Wednesday, less than a week after almost 30,000 cheered on Britain in the Davis Cup at the Emirates. Now Murray’s management team is "looking at the potential for hosting an official Tour event at the Hydro, with support from the SECC, following the success of Andy Murray Live." Asked about an ATP or WTA event in the future, Murray said, "It would have to be indoors but it is possible if you can find the right facility to host it. Look at the Davis Cup events we’ve had here over the last few years. There won’t be many places that can sell out seven or eight nights of 8-10,000 seats, anywhere really. There is definitely an appetite for it." He added, "This was my first time in the Hydro. I’d heard great things about it. It looks amazing and I’m very proud to have helped bring a tennis event here." Murray also "backed new proposals to cut the Davis Cup from three days to two with matches down to the best of three sets" (DAILY RECORD, 9/22).
