Media Notes: Sky Deutschland Launching Ultra HD Service In October

German pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland "will launch its Ultra HD service in Germany and Austria in October." Existing subscribers can order the necessary new receiver Sky+ Pro from now on. Video-on-demand service Sky On Demand "will offer a selection of UHD movies" from October. With the box available both for DTH satellite and cable reception, "customers will also be able to watch selected live football games of the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League on the two new channels Sky Sport Bundesliga UHD and Sky Sport UHD from October." Further live sports "will follow" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 9/27).

Vietnam Cable Television, VTVcab, "inked a deal with South Korea-based KJ Investment Group Inc." to show live broadcasts of Champions League matches in Vietnam. The deal "includes broadcast rights for two seasons," '16-17 and '17-18 (TUOITRE NEWS, 9/24).
