Kia Motors Company "has become a premium partner" of Serie A side Bologna for the '16-17 season. As part of the one-year commercial partnership, the carmaker "will have an advertising presence at the club's home ground, the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara, and it will provide vehicles to the club's directors" (SOCCEREX, 9/26).
Serie A side Palermo announced that Colliano-based safety footwear manufacturer Lewer "will be the club's front-of-shirt sponsor" for the '16-17 season.
The Sicily-based club's players "will wear Lewer's branding on their matchday jerseys" for the remainder of the current season, with the option for a renewal at the end of the year (SOCCEREX, 9/26).
The national airline of Papua New Guinea, Air Niugini, and telecom Telikom PNG were announced as national supporters of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, which will be held in the country’s capital, Port Moresby, in November and December. As a national supporter of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, Air Niugini will provide in-kind assistance comprising air travel discounts and other promotional activities.
Telikom PNG will provide facilities and support to FIFA for the broadcasting of the competition (FIFA).
China’s Geely auto group "has become the main sponsor" behind the British Bloodhound supersonic car project. Geely's support "means the jet-cum-rocket racer now has the financial means to go and break the land speed record next year." Geely is "the largest privately owned car manufacturer in China." The supersonic car had "largely been constructed but there was not enough cash to go racing on its specially prepared track in Northern Cape, South Africa." That problem has "now gone away with the single biggest sponsorship deal in the project’s eight-year history" (BBC, 9/26).
