Lagardère SCA General & Managing Partner ARNAUD LAGARDERE has appointed ANDREW GEORGIOU as CEO of Lagardère Sports and Entertainment. Georgiou has served as COO of Lagardère Sports and Entertainment since '14, overseeing the operations of the group’s global sports and entertainment businesses. Georgiou has been with the company for 10 years. As the new CEO of Lagardère Sports and Entertainment, Georgiou becomes a member of the Comité Élargi of Lagardère SCA (Lagardère Sports and Entertainment).

TAKING THE REIGNS: Swiss Super League side BSC Young Boys has appointed CHRISTOPH SPYCHER as its new sports director. The 38-year-old former professional player signed a three-year deal until '19 (BSC Young Boys). ... Holland & Barrett Int'l Ltd. CEO PETER ALDIS has been appointed to the board of Premiership rugby club Leicester Tigers. Aldis has spent his 34-year career in retailing and held management roles at Currys and ASDA before joining Holland & Barrett in '90 (RUNNING RUGBY, 9/21). ... KATIE SADLEIR has been appointed World Rugby's first GM for women's rugby after an extensive recruitment process. Sadleir, who represented New Zealand at the 1984 Olympic Games and won a medal at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in synchronized swimming, will take up the new role on Nov. 1. She will be responsible for the development of the women's global game, increasing participation numbers and will have input into the women's high-performance strategy (RUNNING RUGBY, 9/22). ... IOC member and swimmer KIRSTY COVENTRY will be elected as VP of the Int'l Surfing Association. The Zimbabwean swimmer will be elected unopposed at the governing body’s annual general meeting taking place during the 2016 VISSLA ISA World Junior Surfing Championships in the Azores Islands, Portugal. She will become the first ever female ISA VP from Africa. Coventry will replace LAYNE BEACHLEY of Australia (ISPORTCONNECT, 9/22).
