Jockey Club Racecourses Names Bookmaker 188BET New Sponsor

Jockey Club Racecourses announced bookmaker 188BET, one of British Racing's authorized betting partners, is the new sponsor of the Grade 2 Old Roan Chase at Aintree in October, Grade 2 Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter in November and next Saturday's Prelude Hurdle at Market Rasen. 188BET agreed to a package of 50 race sponsorships across Jockey Club Racecourses from this month through January, with 25 run at Exeter and another 25 spread around The Jockey Club's racecourse group. The deal sees 188BET sponsor the whole card for Prelude Hurdle Day on Saturday, which will feature the £50,000 ($65,000) 188BET Prelude Handicap Chase (Listed) and £35,000 ($45,400) 188BET.co.uk Prelude Handicap Hurdle (Listed). Aintree’s 188BET Old Roan Chase will be run on Oct. 23 as the feature race on Countryside Day at the course. Exeter’s 188BET Haldon Gold Cup will be run on Nov. 1 as the feature race of Haldon Gold Cup Day (The Jockey Club).

WIGAN RENEWAL: RUNNING RUGBY reported Super League rugby club Wigan Warriors announced that 188BET signed a contract extension which will see the betting brand remain as official main sponsor for the '17 season. The extension will see the 188BET logo displayed on the front of Wigan’s match and replica shirts. 188BET currently sponsors Gloucester County Cricket Club (RUNNING RUGBY, 9/22).
