Olympique De Marseille Workers' Council Approves Club's Sale To American Investor

The Olympique de Marseille workers’ council announced on Tuesday that it had “unanimously agreed to approve the proposed sale of the club to Frank McCourt,” according to LA PROVENCE. After several months in waiting, the club is now “ready to turn the page” on current Owner Margarita Louis-Dreyfus and “enter a new era,” one with former MLB L.A. Dodgers Owner McCourt (LA PROVENCE, 9/20). RMC SPORT reported this agreement “does not mean that the official signing of the sale will be done immediately.” The transaction is now “in the hands of the two parties’ lawyers.” The three next steps are as follows: McCourt’s lawyers “must create a legal structure for owning OM;” the sale agreement “must be drawn up;” and the transfer of shares must be made.
