Marketplace Roundup: Che Guevara Energy Drink Named Title Sponsor Of Tour De Corse

The French Motor Sports Federation (FFSA) and the Che Guevara Energy Drink company announced a title sponsorship deal for the 2016 Tour de Corse which will run from Sept. 29-Oct. 2. The deal will last three years. The 10th round of the World Rally Championship is now named the Che Guevara Energy Drink Tour de Corse. Che Guevara Energy Drink will be the title sponsor and the official drink of the event (Tour de Corse).

Belgian Pro League side RSC Anderlecht and Betway have signed a three-year partnership. The Betway logo will be visible throughout the Constant Vanden Stock stadium. The agreement sees Betway become the official betting partner for the club and allows the operator to interact with fans via the team’s digital media channels. Betway replaces bwin.party after its three-year partnership with RSCA came to an end (RSCA).

Rome-based bank insurance company Eurovita partnered with the Association of Italian Referees (AIA) to sponsor officials at all levels of Italian football for the next three years. Eurovita’s branding will be on the technical equipment of all referees in every match to which the AIA provides officials -- a total of more than 35,000 referees at over 600,000 matches over the three-year period, covering all levels of the game from Serie A down to amateur football. The deal sees Eurovita paying an annual fee of €1.2M ($1.34M) per year to the AIA (SOCCEREX, 9/19).

Omani telecom Omantel renewed its commercial partnership with the Oman FA, “remaining in place as the title sponsor” of the Middle Eastern country’s top division. The Omantel Professional League will retain its name for the next three seasons, until the end of the ’18-19 edition. Financial details were not announced, though the previous three-year renegotiation was valued at a total of $2.3M (SOCCEREX, 9/19).

Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar is the latest athlete to endorse Dubai-based property developer The First Group. He was named its ambassador for India. Known as “Sunny” by fans, the world-record-breaking batsman made his mark in the ‘70s and ‘80s, ultimately going on to become the first cricketer to score 10,000 Test runs and 30 centuries (The First Group).

Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin renewed its partnership with health insurance company AOK Nordost for another two years. The focus of the partnership will be Hertha's youth teams (Hertha Berlin).

La Liga side Sevilla and travel agency Travel HIS signed a sponsorship agreement in which the agency becomes an official regional sponsor of the club. Travel HIS will spread the Sevilla brand in Japan. This is the first agreement between Travel HIS and a La Liga club (Sevilla).
