Media Notes: Yahoo Esports Signs Two-Year Deal With ESL Gaming Network

Yahoo signed Yahoo eSports "into a two-year agreement with ESL Gaming Network." This agreement will allow Yahoo to stream and broadcast esports through its "own mediums and could potentially bring in new sponsorship opportunities for advertisers" (SPORT TECHIE, 8/30).

Virgin Media is to launch the U.K.’s "first broadband tier aimed at online gamers." VIVID 200 Gamer has been designed "in collaboration with gaming organisations" including leading U.K. esports group Gfinity. The new tier, launching on Thursday, "will be an add-on to Virgin Media's current top broadband package and will offer download speeds of up to 200Mbps and upload speeds of 20Mbps" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 8/31). 

UFC announced a multi-year digital partnership with Japan's OTT platform from Perform, DAZN. The deal fives fan in Japan access to all UFC live events and original programming via the new live sports streaming platform DAZN (UFC).
