Marketplace Roundup: AFL Extends Partnership With Toyota For A Further Three Years

The Australian Football League extended its partnership with car company Toyota for a further three years. The new agreement will take the AFL-Toyota partnership until at least the end of the '19 season. The new deal with Toyota will mean the company will have been the AFL's premier partner for 16 years when the three-year agreement expires in '19 (AFL).

TRAVELING SHOW: West Ham announced that sports travel and accommodation specialist Thomas Cook Sport will become an official match breaks supplier of the club. As part of the agreement Thomas Cook Sport will be offering match break packages to the club's fan base (West Ham).

STAR PLAYER: Serie A side Torino "signed an extended and expanded deal with StarCasinò, the club's online gambling partner." The new agreement "will see StarCasinò develop its #StarDelMatch social media campaign, allowing fans to vote for the Serie A team's man of the match during games." The one-year deal "is a renewal of a partnership" initially signed ahead of the '15-16 season (SOCCEREX, 8/30).

BULLET POINT: National Basketball League side Brisbane Bullets announced Ladbrokes as a major associate partner and the club’s official betting partner. The Ladbrokes logo will be featured on the back of the Brisbane Bullets playing uniform (Brisbane Bullets).

MARKETING BRIEFS ...
Mexican Football Federation (FMF) Secretary General Guillermo Cantú attended the presentation on Tuesday of Mexico's National Women's Amateur League. The league is entering its second season, and its principal sponsor will be Scotiabank (EL FINANCIERO, 8/30).

U.S. sportswear brand New Balance "announced the signing" of Everton and Belgium football player Kevin Mirallas to a personal endorsement deal. Mirallas, 28, joins New Balance from Nike and "will wear its Furon range of boots with immediate effect" (SOCCEREX, 8/31).

Ghanaian side Accra Hearts of Oak is "close to sealing a sponsorship deal with Chinese multinational networking, telecommunications equipment and services company, Huawei Technologies Limited." According to reports in the local media, the club, which has been without a shirt sponsor for the last three seasons, expects "to conclude negotiations on the deal before the end of the season" (GHANA WEB, 8/31).
