Argentine Clubs Decide How Sum Of $130M Will Be Split Starting In '17

Starting in '17, Argentine first division clubs will receive a total of 1.95B Argentine pesos ($130M), which "will be divided based on the current distribution model," according to Alejandro Casar González of LA NACION. Starting in '18, "the distribution will take into account on-field results." First division clubs on Tuesday discussed revenue distribution for the Superliga, which will take effect starting in '17, with three categories -- Boca Juniors and River Plate in Group I; Independiente, Racing, San Lorenzo and Vélez in Group II and the remaining 24 teams in Group III. In '18, other factors will be considered when revenue is distributed, including sporting achievements (the better the place in the standings, the more TV money) and the TV ratings. The money will be distributed "in the following fashion:" 40% based on the three current groups, 30% split equally among all teams, 25% based on TV ratings and 5% based on wins and losses (LA NACION, 8/31).
