Event Notes: England & Wales Cricket Board Confirms Tour Of Bangladesh

England's tour of Bangladesh this autumn "will go ahead despite recent security concerns." Militant group Islamic State said that it "carried out an attack in Dhaka last month which saw 20 hostages killed." However, the England & Wales Cricket Board tweeted on Thursday, "We can confirm that englandcricket's tour of Bangladesh will continue as planned." England have two Tests and three one-day internationals planned, in Dhaka and Chittagong, between Oct. 7 and Nov. 1 (London INDEPENDENT, 8/26).

Caribbean wireless provider Digicel and the NBA announced that Digicel NBA Jumpstart Basketball Clinics will return to the Caribbean for the second consecutive year. The clinics, which tipped off in Bermuda on Friday, will bring together more than 500 boys, local coaches and -- for the first time -- girls from nine Caribbean countries. At the conclusion of the clinics, the top seven players in each market will be selected to attend the Digicel NBA Jumpstart Elite Camp in the British Virgin Islands from Oct. 7-9 (NBA).

Dubai's Royal Equestrian Club will conduct "four innovative events" as part of its activities for the '16-17 season highlighted by the Knights Championship and the Equestrian World Conference Majlis. Other events on the calendar will also include an Equestrian World Fashion Show and a Horses & Cavalry Talent Show Championship (GULF NEWS, 8/27).
