Football Notes: Collapsed Bleacher In Neiva, Colombia, Kills 3, Injures 10

Three construction workers "were killed and 10 were injured when a bleacher at Colombian side Atlético Huila's Guillermo Plazas Alcid stadium collapsed." The "number of deaths could increase as it is not known how many people were working at the time" (LA AFICIÓN, 8/20).

The Argentine Players' Association (FAA) have a meeting scheduled for Wednesday to "define the stance of players on the decision by second division execs to not start the upcoming season because they consider the money they receive insufficient" (OLÉ, 8/21).

Two weeks after Liga MX side Chivas Guadalajara "broadcast a game for free on Chivas TV to compensate for multiple technical failures," the team's network "failed again, this time during Saturday's game against Atlas." A number of fans "complained on social media that the signal dropped for 20 minutes in bars, restaurants and on mobile devices," with some posting "screenshots of a frozen image or error symbol" (LA AFICIÓN, 8/20).
