League Notes: Lamborghini CEO Says Car Maker Not Entering F1 Any Time Soon

Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali said that the car maker "will not be entering" Formula 1 "any time soon." After "losing his role" as Ferrari team boss in '14, Domenicali was "snapped up" by VW-owned Audi and subsequently made CEO of Audi-owned Lamborghini. But as for Lamborghini entering F1, Domenicali said, "I have to say this is not the priority today, because we have other priorities above this. We also have a system that is working really well in racing, and credit for that goes to all of the people who have chosen the sports program very well" (GMM, 8/16).

Int'l Boxing Association (AIBA) President Wu Ching-kuo has "expressed concern over the slow development of boxing in Indonesia," saying that with a population of 250 million people, the country "should be able to achieve much more in the sport." Wu: "Countries like Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have improved in last two years and could send boxers to the Olympics." According to Wu, Indonesia "does not have any qualified boxing coaches or three-star rated international referees or judges." He said, "This is the most fundamental problem that must be resolved if Indonesia wants to move forward" (JAKARTA GLOBE, 8/16).
