Perform Group, Axel Springer Reach Sublicense Deal For Online Bundesliga Highlights

U.K-based media company Perform Group "has agreed to a partnership with German media corp. Axel Springer for the use of Bundesliga highlight clips," according to Ingo Rentz of HORIZONT. Axel Springer will sublicense Perform's online highlight rights from '17-21. In return, Perform, which launched its OTT service DAZN on Wednesday, will be allowed to use Axel Springer's online Bundesliga rights this season. Both Perform and Axel Springer, through its Bild brand, "will offer Bundesliga highlights starting at midnights on Mondays" from the '17-18 season onward. Financial terms of the cooperation "were not revealed." In addition to Bundesliga highlights, Axel Springer will receive highlight clips of Perform's other content partners, including the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, NFL and NBA (HORIZONT, 8/10).
