Marketplace Roundup: Turkish Side Galatasaray Unveils Major Partnership With Nef

Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray "unveiled a major partnership agreement with real estate firm Nef." The club agreed to a three-year deal worth a total of $40M, "which will see Nef's logo appear on the front" of its matchday shirts. The '15-16 season saw Galatasaray play "without a shirt sponsor and this deal represents a commercial restructuring for the club" (SOCCEREX, 8/11).

EXCLUSIVE PARTNER: Ligue 1 side AS Monaco announced European sports nutrition and food supplement company Prozis is the club's new official and exclusive partner in its field for the '16-17 season. Throughout the '16-17 season, Prozis will appear on all of the club's official media and on the LED displays at the Stade Louis-II (AS Monaco). 

FIRST EPL CLUB: London-based digital creative agency Delete scored its first Premier League partnership with Southampton. The club will work in collaboration with Delete to develop a digital transformation strategy focused on increasing fan engagement within the U.K. and internationally. Delete will create a range of new digital consumer touchpoints across multiple channels, focused on driving a better experience for the club's fans and awareness of the Southampton brand at an int'l level (Delete Agency).

Online bookmaker Ladbrokes extended its partnership with Australia's National Basketball League for a further two years. Ladbrokes will announce an NBL Fantasy Player of the Week throughout the '16-17 season, awarded to the most statistically productive player (Ladbrokes). 

Singapore-based telecom Singtel has "signed up three returning sponsors" for its upcoming Premier League coverage. The partners are presenting sponsor OPPO, main sponsor Income and co-sponsor Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo. Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo, which joined as a sponsor mid last season, is "coming on board for a full season this year" (MARKETING INTERACTIVE, 8/11).

Official shoe supplier Sioux on Wednesday announced that it "will end its sponsorship" of the German Olympic Committee (DOSB). The reason for the decision is that the Olympic Games "are purely commercial nowadays and do not convey values like they did in the '70s." Sioux "has been a partner of the DOSB since the 1972 Munich Games" (SPONSORs, 8/11).

Second Bundesliga club 1860 Munich renewed its sponsorship with metal trader Edelstahl Linster for the '16-17 season. The company has been a partner of the club since last year (1860 Munich).

Binary options broker anyoption announced that South African rugby player JP Pietersen will be the company's new brand ambassador. Pietersen will join in a 12-month partnership in a new integrated marketing and advertising campaign across print, digital and social media beginning in September. Pietersen was part of the South African World Cup-winning team in '07 and was part of the Springbok side that won the series against the British & Irish Lions in '09 (anyoption). 

Southern League Premier Division side Banbury United added a "new sponsor" for its main stand. John Nicholls Ltd., last season's away shirt sponsor, "will see its name added to the roof of the club's stand, as well as advertising inside the stand and on the side sections" (BANBURY GUARDIAN, 8/11).
