France's LFP Announces STATS As Official Statistics Provider, Data Tracker

The French Professional Football League (LFP) chose U.S.-based statistics company STATS as its official statistics provider and data tracker for all of its competitions for ’16-20. The ’16-17 season marks the launch of a new cycle for the LFP for the use of statistics in Ligue 1, Ligue 2, the Coupe de la Ligue and the Champions Trophy. STATS will use a dedicated team to collect live data from its production center. The data will be verified immediately after the match and certified in the 24 hours after the final whistle. The data will be transmitted live to all official users to be integrated on TV, on the LFP and club websites and on stadium screens. To capture more Ligue 1 data, STATS will install three HD cameras in each Ligue 1 stadium. Piloted by two operators, the cameras will be able to cover the entire pitch and capture the movements of each player live. The data collected will include minimum and maximum distance traveled, the average sprinting distance and the average and maximum speed of each player and team (LFP).
