The Leicester City players who lifted the Premier League trophy "have been presented" with a £100,000 ($130,700) sports car each, according to Adrian Troughton of the LEICESTER MERCURY. Leicester City Chair Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha "forked out" nearly £2M ($2.6M) to buy 19 BMW i8's for the members of last season's squad of champions. The players were presented with the cars "as a thank-you at the King Power Stadium." The cars are on top of a £6.5M ($8.5M) pot "that will be split between the squad under the terms of Leicester's bonus agreement" with the Premier League. Srivaddhanaprabha is worth an estimated £2B ($2.6B) and "bought 19 cars" despite the fact Manager Claudio Ranieri used 23 players in his title-winning squad. It is thought that Joe Dodoo, Andrej Kramaric, Yohan Benalouane and N'Golo Kante "are the four players to miss out on the BMW i8's." Key midfielder N'Golo Kante "recently moved to Premier league rivals Chelsea while the other three only made a handful of substitute appearances between them" (
LEICESTER MERCURY, 8/5).
