Media Notes: Harry Kewell, Jermaine Jenas Joining BT Sport Score Football Show

BT Sport unveiled the Saturday TV line-up to "go head-to-head with Jeff Stelling and Co during the new season." The results show, called BT Sport Score, will go up against Sky Sports' "long-running, Stelling-fronted Soccer Saturday" when the campaign kicks off on Aug. 13. Mark Pougatch will front the new program, from 2:30pm on the opening day, with former England int'l Jermaine Jenas, ex-Liverpool and Leeds player Harry Kewell and established BT Sport analysts Robbie Savage, Harry Redknapp, David James and Howard Webb supporting. The show will "keep viewers up to date" with action from all the matches taking place across the U.K. and the big games in Europe, as well as the FA Women's Super League (London DAILY MAIL, 8/4).

MAKE ROOM FOR RIO: Saturday night's Australian Football League match between Western Bulldogs and North Melbourne "has been punted from Channel Seven in favour of a replay of the Rio opening ceremony." Fans were "left outraged after it was announced that the top-eight face-off will be broadcast on 7mate in Victoria." Many said that they "would be sticking with Fox Footy’s broadcast." The match between Adelaide and Brisbane will "also be shifted for South Australian viewers, with 7mate to revert to Rio coverage after both matches have ended." Seven said that it was a decision based on “programming synergy” (HERALD SUN, 8/4).

MEDIA BRIEFS ...
Fox Sports will for the first time embrace "Jarryd-cam" when Jarryd Hayne "makes his debut for the Gold Coast on Sunday." To mark the occasion, an extra camera "will be fixed on Hayne for the entire 80 minutes of the 2pm match against the Warriors." Foxtel viewers will be able to "press the red button on their remote controls, which will show exclusive footage of Hayne during the game, including any warm-ups and off-the-ball action" (Sydney DAILY TELEGRAPH, 8/4).

Sports technology company STATS has bolstered its football coverage in collaboration with Prozone Sports, which was acquired by STATS in May '15. STATS Tier 6+ data is supported by the new appointed EMEA Research & Editorial team providing clubs and media with in-depth football match coverage. Tier 6+ includes more than 2,700 separate events per game provided to teams live with a timestamp, position (x,y) and player/team involved for 16 leagues and competitions (STATS).
