France Télévisions Drew Daily Average Of 3.2M For Tour De France

France Télévisions broadcast of the 2016 Tour de France from July 2-24 drew an average daily audience of 3.2 million viewers translating to a 31.4% market share, according to Thierry Wojciak of CB NEWS. The Tour, which concluded last Sunday and was won by British cyclist Christopher Froome, was broadcast on France 2 and 3 in its entirety. On France 2, the 21 stages of the ’16 event drew an average audience of 3.5 million (36.5% market share). On France 3, the stages drew 2.4 million viewers (21.9% market share) per day on average. Throughout the competition, the online portal francetvsport registered over 6.5 million visits, with a “strong impact coming from mobile hits” (29%). The francetvsport portal was “widely used on social media” with users sharing more than 8.2 million videos, notably through Facebook (4.1 million), YouTube (2.6 million) and Snapchat (1.5 million) (CB NEWS, 7/25).
