NFL Mexico Dir Arturo Olivé Says Two Games Per Year A Possibility After '18

NFL Mexico Dir Arturo Olivé said that there eventually "could be two games per year in Mexico, but this will only be possible based on the needs of partners and the stadiums," according to LA AFICIÓN. The Houston Texans will play the Oakland Raiders on Nov. 21 at Mexico City's Estadio Azteca. Olivé says, "At the moment it will be one per year in 2016, 2017 and 2018. (The two games) will be based on the needs of the stadium and the business partners. It is possible to have more than one year per game, but the plan is to have one per year. It is better to take safe steps and advance gradually." He added that based on "the success selling tickets, five games per year could be scheduled," but one "must respect the stadium's schedule, as it is the home of Liga MX side América and the national team. We would have to align with the dates that they have" (LA AFICIÓN, 7/27).
