Spanish Basketball League Confirms Estudiantes Will Compete In Top Tier

The Spanish Basketball League's (ACB) General Assembly on Thursday confirmed the inclusion of Estudiantes in the league next season, according to EL PAÍS. The ACB also began conversations with Melilla and Palencia, "which declined the offer," about their possible inclusion with Gipuzkoa having withdrawn. Estudiantes finished last season in second-to-last place, and it is remaining in the ACB "thanks once again to the inability of clubs that have earned promotion from the second tier to make the financial guarantees demanded by the ACB" (EL PAÍS, 7/22).
