More Than 800,000 Viewers Tune In To Watch German MotoGP Race On Eurosport

Pan-European sports channel Eurosport "drew a peak audience of 810,000 viewers for its broadcast of Sunday's German MotoGP race," according to Alexander Krei of DWDL. Eurosport attracted an average viewership of 650,000 for its race coverage starting at 1:41pm. The number translated into a market share of 4.9%. In the target demographic 14-49, the network obtained a 4.2% share. Later in the evening, Eurosport showed the U19 European Championship football match between Germany and Austria. The game, which was won by Germany, was watched by 340,000 viewers and had a 1.3% market share.

TOUR COVERAGE: German public broadcaster ARD recorded more than 990,000 viewers and a 7.4% market share for its German Touring Car Championship (DTM) coverage on Sunday. The following Tour de France broadcast drew 1.46 million viewers and obtained a 10.1% share. In the target demo, the 15th stage drew a 6% share. Eurosport recorded a 2.1% share as 330,000 watched its broadcast of Sunday's Tour stage (DWDL, 7/18).
