Tour De France Fan Park Opens To Public In Paris For Last Week Of Tour

The Fan Park Tour de France, the first area dedicated to fans of the Tour de France, “will open its doors in the square of la Défense,” the business district of the Paris-metro area, according to Purshoothe Thayalan of LE FIGARO. Fans will be able to “watch the Tour live on a 40 square-meter screen” set up in the 600 square-meter Fan Park from Tuesday to Sunday. Fans will also be able to “measure themselves against the riders, on stationary bikes.” Each day from 10am to 10pm, along with coaches, cycling fans have the opportunity to “ride three legendary stages of the Tour: the Alpe d’Huez climb, the arrival on the Champs-Elysées and the mountain stage at Albertville.” The connected bikes will allow the fans to “compare themselves directly to the professionals on the Tour.” A yellow jersey, a polka-dotted jersey and a green jersey are available for fans to win. The Fan Park also includes an “exhibition on the history of the Tour.” Every night “a new French musician will perform” in the Park as well (LE FIGARO, 7/18).
