German sports marketing agency Jung von Matt/sports has added Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin to its client list. The Hamburg-based agency will help develop Hertha's brand and its positioning in the marketplace. The core of the cooperation will be a new campaign that identifies the club as "Berlin's oldest start-up." A new billboard, which was installed outside of the club's HQ, reads, "Berliner Start-up seit 1892" ("A Berlin start-up since 1892"). The slogan refers to the existing start-up culture in Germany's capital, which can also be found in Hertha Berlin's "turbulent" 124-year history. During the unveiling of the new sign, club tweeted the campaign message: "We try. We fail. We win." The season-long campaign will officially launch with the start of new Bundesliga season in August, JvM/sports co-Managing Dir Raphael Brinkert told SBD Global. He declined to provide financial details of the deal but described the partnership as a "permanent one." JvM/sports will activate the campaign online, out-of-home and across all of the club's channels. The agency, which was created in '13, already has relationships with a number of Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga teams, including Schalke, Ingolstadt and St. Pauli. JvM/sports' portfolio also includes the German FA (DFB), German Olympic Committee (DOSB), adidas football and Force India F1 driver Nico Hülkenberg.
