UFA Sports Managing Dir ROBERT MÜLLER VON VULTEJUS is heading up the newly established Business Development Europe team that will identify and execute overarching growth projects and thereby expand Lagardère Sports’ current portfolio of projects and clients. Müller von Vultejus will lead the the team of int'l experts, based in Hamburg and London, to foster the integration of Lagardère Sports’ subsidiary UFA Sports. Müller von Vultejus has also been appointed as Lagardère Sports Germany co-managing director. He will complement the German leadership team alongside Managing Dir PHILIPP HASENBEIN, Exec VP Football Germany HENDRIK SCHIPHORST and CFO RONALD BRANDS (Lagardère Sports). ... La Liga side Villarreal "confirmed the departure" of long-term Sporting Dir ANTONIO CORDON. A short statement on the club's website reported Cordon's exit "after 17 years at El Madrigal," and suggested he will be taking up a role elsewhere (FOOTBALL ESPANA, 6/29).

COACHES/MANAGERS: AC Milan appointed former Fiorentina and Sampdoria Manager VINCENZO MONTELLA on a two-year contract. The 42-year-old "will begin work with the Italian side" on July 1 and will replace CRISTIAN BROCCHI, who took charge on an interim basis after SINISA MIHAJLOVIC was sacked in April (REUTERS, 6/29).
