Media Notes: Motor1.com Announces Acquisition Of BoldRide.com

Motor1.com, sister company of Motorsport.com, announced that it has acquired automotive digital media platform BoldRide.com. The acquisition supports Motor1.com's global business strategy and aggressive expansion into a dozen new markets around the world this year. BoldRide.com is Motor1.com's latest acquisition after recently welcoming RideApart.com, a motorcycle digital platform, to its portfolio of properties. Founded in '11, BoldRide.com is an active auto community hub featuring a library of car images, videos and editorial content (Motor1).

SONY SIX TO SHOW CPL: Sony Six, a part of Sony Pictures Networks, has acquired the exclusive broadcasting rights for the Caribbean Premier League. This will be the third consecutive year that the channel will be telecasting the tournament. The CPL will be broadcast live on Sony Six in the Indian sub-continent comprising India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal and Maldives. The network also acquired the digital rights for the tournament and will live stream the matches on Sony Liv (Sony Six). 

MORE CPL COVERAGE: Middle East and North Africa pay-TV network OSN will bring all of the CPL to its subscribers this summer, further underlining it as the destination for cricket. OSN subscribers can watch every match live on OSN Sports Cricket HD, starting June 29 through to the final on Aug. 7. The CPL also announced that all 34 matches in this year’s CPL will be broadcast live on Facebook around the world, via Facebook’s official live streaming partner Grabyo. CPL will become the first sports league to supplement its existing broadcast deals and use the Facebook Live platform to ensure that 40 countries around the world, including Pakistan, South Africa and the Philippines can now view the sport live. It will also be the first time ever an int'l cricket match has been broadcast using Facebook Live (CPL).

Minute Media, the parent company of 90min and 12up, is bringing its contributor-driven sports-media platform to India in a joint venture with one of India's top media houses, HT Media Group. The new joint venture will launch 90min, Powered by HT, to serve millions of football fans in South Asia, both in English and later in Hindi. Built on 90min's mobile- and socially-driven technology, the site will offer the latest news, commentary, statistics and visuals on global football to the Indian market across HT Media Group's properties (Minute Media). 

Dimension Data and Amaury Sport Organisation announced enhancements to the cycling analytics platform that will deliver real-time information to viewers, commentators and teams at the 2016 Tour de France. Headlining the innovations is Race Center, a web-based application hosted on Dimension Data's cloud platform and developed in partnership with ASO that combines live race data, videos, photographs, social media feeds and race commentary which combines with a new live tracking website. Race Center will become ASO's digital hub of the Tour de France going forward (Dimension Data).
