ESPN Int'l, NFL Renew Rights Agreement In Spanish-Speaking Latin America Until '19

ESPN Int'l and the NFL reached a four-year rights renewal for NFL games in Spanish-speaking Latin America. The new agreement starts with the '16 season on Sept. 8 and continues through the '19 season. The agreement includes rights to preseason games and regular-season games, including the annual NFL Kickoff, Sunday Night Football, Monday Night Football, the AFC Playoffs, the Pro Bowl and the Super Bowl. ESPN Int'l will deliver more than 48 live NFL games to 17 countries each of the four years of the agreement. ESPN also retains the right to air Compactos, one-hour game cut-down programs covering up to 60 games each season. A new addition to the agreement includes the linear TV distribution of NFL RedZone, which provides "whip around" coverage of all Sunday afternoon games. ESPN will also be the pay-TV home of the Nov. 21 NFL Int'l Series game in Mexico City, when the Oakland Raiders host the Houston Texans at Estadio Azteca (ESPN Int'l).
