Spanish second division side Mallorca named JAVIER RECIO its sporting director, replacing MIGUEL ANGEL NADAL. Recio previously worked for Espanyol's youth department (EFE, 6/23). ... Shotoku Broadcast Systems, which offers manual and robotic camera support and virtual reality tracking, announced that GRAHAM RAMSEY, an industry veteran with more than 25 years' experience, has joined the company in a senior capacity to further expand global presence. Ramsey, previously SVP at Vitec Videocom, will focus on the further development of Shotoku’s manual camera product range and the continued expansion of their geographic market penetration (Shotoku). ... Rugby Championship side Bedford Blues hired two new members to its board of directors with JAMES STONOR and LEIGH MANSELL both “accepting invitations” from club Chair GEOFF IRVINE. Mansell has been “involved with the club from boy to man.” He has remained “heavily involved with the Blues where he became an active member of the Former Players Association” before being named as chair in ’10 (RUNNING RUGBY, 6/22)

COACHES/MANAGERSSANTIAGO SOLARI will be the next coach of Real Madrid Castilla, which competes in the Spanish third tier. He replaces LUIS MIGUEL RAMIS (LIBERTAD DIGITAL, 6/23). ... Spanish Basketball League (ACB) side Barcelona hired SARUNAS JASIKEVICIUS to replace XAVI PASCUAL as its coach. Pascual had coached the club since '08 (AS, 6/23). ... MARCO SILVA resigned as coach of Greek side Olympiakos Piraeus on Thursday with the club immediately announcing Spaniard VICTOR SANCHEZ as his successor. The 38-year-old Portuguese Silva, who led Olympiakos to a record 43rd league title last season, "cited personal reasons for his sudden and unexpected departure." The 40-year-old Sanchez, who worked at Olympiakos as an assistant to former coach MICHEL in the '13-14 season, managed La Liga side Deportivo La Coruña last season, but was sacked after the club finished 15th in La Liga (REUTERS, 6/23). ... The Board of Control for Cricket in India said that former captain ANIL KUMBLE will be India's head coach for the next year. Kumble, "whose only coaching experience has been as mentor of the Mumbai and Bangalore teams in the Indian Premier League Twenty20 tournament," will take over before the team’s tour of the West Indies next month. BCCI President ANURAG THAKUR said, "After discussions with various stakeholders we have taken the final call that for next year Anil Kumble will be the head coach." He added, "It’s not about Indian or foreign coach. It’s about who is the best for Indian cricket" (REUTERS, 6/23). ... DAVIDE NICOLA will lead Italian side Crotone into the first Serie A campaign of its history “after being named head coach of the promoted club.” The Calabrians finished second behind Cagliari in Serie B, with Croatian Manager IVAN JURIC now free to join Genoa, which has been linked with his services since GIAN PIERO GASPERINI moved to Atalanta earlier this month (PA, 6/23).
