MP & Silva Teams Up With Globo To Distribute Brazilian Football Rights In Latin America

MP & Silva closed a new partnership with Globo for the distribution rights of Brazil's top flight football league, Brasileiro, and the state championships of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in Latin America. The new distribution deal for Latin American countries will be announced Wednesday and includes all media rights on a platform-neutral basis and covers three seasons, from '16-18. The rights package consists of two state championships (Campeonato Paulista and Campeonato Carioca) from January-April and the Brazilian championship (Campeonato Brasileiro) from May-December. The package also includes a weekly football magazine called FootBrazil containing inside information and up-to-the-minute news on Brazilian football, and a weekly highlights show. The deal will cover all broadcast technologies and media platforms, including terrestrial free-to-air TV, satellite and cable TV, IPTV, closed circuit TV, mobile TV, mobile, Internet, broadband TV and video on demand by means of TV and digital rights. MP & Silva will be the exclusive distributor of the Brazilian championship for Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Falkland Islands, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela, and non-exclusive for the Dominican Republic (MP & Silva).
