Liverpool Reports Only 200 Season Tickets Left For 'Anfield Dugout'

Liverpool is reporting that it only has 200 season tickets left for its new "Anfield Dugout" hospitality in the revamped stadium that opens for the '16-17 season, according to Paul Nicholson of INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL. Liverpool is increasing the capacity of Anfield "via the development of its main stand which will increase ground capacity to 54,000." The starting prices for the Anfield Dugout hospitality area at £3,000 ($4,400) for the season "do not seem to have put off buyers." The area had 2,000 tickets available. The club is selling the area as a concept "that brings something a bit different to the traditional match day hospitality experience." Liverpool CCO Billy Hogan said, "The Dugout is a great concept for fans who want to add a little extra to their matchday experience. A sports bar atmosphere with great food from around the world -- it’s never been seen before at Anfield so we’re not surprised by its popularity." The tickets include premium seating accessed via its own lounge area, complimentary food, a halftime drink and a matchday program (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 6/21).
